Always pick up after your dog when he makes a “deposit.” Pet waste bacteria accumulates in our waterways if it is left on the sidewalk or in our yard. The bacteria found in pet waste is harmful to the animals that live in our rivers and oceans and can make our beaches unsafe for swimming, boating, and other recreational activities. If we all pick up after our dogs, our swimming beaches will be much healthier.
